As a litigation attorney, Brandon represents clients in various areas of civil law including insurance coverage and bad faith claims; public liability; workers’ compensation and medical treatment claims. He acts on behalf of private and public insurers, owners/occupiers of premises, health professionals and public hospitals. He has appeared in the District Court and Supreme Court of Western Australia.
He graduated from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina on an academic scholarship and received a bachelor’s degree cum laude. He then went on to Valparaiso University School of Law and completed the accelerated J.D. program in just two and a half years. He earned both course and semester honors, was a member of the international moot court traveling team, and was a regional finalist in the Luther M. Swygert Moot Court Competition.
After graduating from law school, Brandon began his legal career at a small personal injury and work injury firm, Shean Law, where he worked exclusively representing injury victims and Hoosiers who were hurt on the job. He later transitioned to a large corporate law firm where he handled a broad range of employment matters including wage and hour disputes, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Brandon joined Armstrong Teasdale in 2022 and has been named an Illinois Super Lawyer Rising Star for the past four consecutive years. He is also a member of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel (ACEBC). The ACEBC is composed of preeminent employee benefits attorneys Brandon Hall Lawyer from across the United States and Canada who are recognized for their outstanding skills and professionalism.
Brandon is dedicated to assisting individuals and collective groups who have been wronged in the workplace. He has successfully handled wrongful death, products liability, construction accident, commercial trucking accident and automobile accident cases. He has also handled numerous workers’ compensation matters in both state and federal courts throughout Illinois.
In addition to his employment practice, Brandon regularly counsels business and emerging companies on general corporate matters including governance, formation, ownership, financing, employment contracting and fiduciary duties. He also assists healthcare and life sciences clients on a variety of matters, including working extensively with physician contracts including negotiating covenants not to compete, physician recruitment agreements and hospital-based consulting arrangements.
During his spare time, Brandon enjoys cycling, kayaking and spending time with his wife Lindsay. He is fluent in Spanish and has studied at La Universidad de Salamanca, Spain, and has a working knowledge of Italian. He and his wife are avid travelers and have visited a number of countries including Argentina, Chile, Italy, Ecuador, and Venezuela. Whenever possible, they try to visit as many national parks as they can. They are also die-hard Chicago Cubs and Alabama Crimson Tide fans.
